Bio

Ama Bemma Adwetewa-Badu is a third year Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) in the Department of English at Cornell University. She studies twentieth- and twenty-first-century Anglophone poetry and poetics, world literature, globalization, and comparative black studies. Through both close-reading and distant-reading methodologies, her dissertation considers a set of Anglophone poets from the late twentieth century to present day, focusing on how these poets fostered cross-national and cross-cultural solidarities.
