C.T. Au, also known as Au Chung-to, earned her PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Hong Kong and is known for her works Modernist Aesthetics in Taiwanese Poetry since the 1950s, The Hong Kong Modernism of Leung Ping-kwan, and 無歲無時：澳門現代主義詩潮導論Wú suì wú shí: Àomén xiàndàizhǔyì shīcháo dǎolùn (Introducing Macanese Modernist Poetry). Her research focuses on comparative Chinese modernisms and lyrical traditions.
